Lingfeng Wang, a Ph.D student of Dr. Chanan Singh at Texas A&M University, received a competitive academic scholarship from the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE International) for his interdisciplinary research in electric power systems. His research topic is concerned with the multi-criteria design for power system operations and planning in terms of reliability, cost and environmental impact. Jan. 06.
Fabian M. Uriarte received a first place paper award at the North American Power Symposium (NAPS) 2006 for best paper and presentation. His advisor is Dr. Karen Butler-Purry. The students in this conference are researching power systems in Electrical Engineering. Oct.06.
Fabian Uriarte won 2nd place in the student paper contest at the prestigious IEEE Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Conference & Exposition and was awarded a travel grant to the IEEE Ph.D. Research in Micro-Electronics, (PRIME) conference. His advisor is Dr. Karen Butler-Purry. Jun 06.
Electrical and computer engineering graduate student, Lingfeng Wang, recently received the prestigious Excellent Overseas Chinese Student Award from the China Scholarship Council (CSC), a non-profit institution affiliated with the Ministry of Education, China. The award is annually granted to a student with excellent academic performance who is currently pursuing his/her doctoral degree in a foreign country. It is the highest honor bestowed on a self-financed Chinese student studying abroad. His advisor is Dr. Chanan Singh. April 06.
