EXPANDED EPPEI BOARD REVIEWS
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
October 19, 1998. On this dreary, drizzly day
in College Station, board members forsee a bright future for utility and utility-related
industries when joined to a progressive organization such as the Electric Power and Power
Electronics Institute of Texas A&M University.
Dr. Mladen Kezunovic, director of
EPPEI and professor of electrical engineering, welcomed the group and reviewed the 1997-98
activities.
Dr. B. Don Russell, associate vice
chancellor for engineering and electrical engineering faculty member in The Texas A&M
University System, thanked the group for taking the time to be there. "What you do
here around this table is very important to the future of not only EPPEI, the EE
department, and the university, but also the industry." |
That future
for EPPEI includes helping the utility-related industries portray a positive image to
electrical engineering graduates. EPPEI is stategically positioned to be of service
through recruiting, internship, and co-operative education programs. Dr.
Chanan Singh, head of the Electrical Engineering Department and himself part of the power
engineering faculty, joined in expressing appreciation to the participants for their
support of higher education through membership in EPPEI. EPPEI thanks goes to Singh for
the distribution of department funds that benefited the institute's activities . |
